Time to bounce

So you are probably wondering what is up, well, we are settling into life as a family of three. I'm busy from morning to night, but never been happier.

Aliette is currently finished with all of her medications. I believe we will need to see an ENT pretty soon, but doctor is pacing visits. Insurance is being a little difficult, but I believe those issues are working themselves out. We've been home a little more than a month, when I meet her she wasn't crawling or able to hold her own bottle. Now, she is cruising, pulling herself up, and will walk when holding your fingers. She is a happy baby, with a unique sparkle in her eye. She makes me laugh often. Her favorite past time is playing in the cat's water or playing peek a boo with her sister.

Olivia is very protective of her little sister and would rather play with her than me. I'm a little jealous, but know how important this time. She hates it when Aliette takes a nap or is eating in the Kitchen, she begs for her friend to stay up or join her for whatever adventure she is having. Today we are going to our favorite place: Andies Bounce and Barn with Noelle and Rafe. A good time should be had by all.

Next week, Olivia is taking the week off from school and we are going to hit the museums. I'm dying to see the dinosaurs, kept talking about them, but I never get there, so I'm hoping next week. We have tickets for both the Discovery and Stepping stones museums as well. On Tuesday, Olivia and I will be visiting a potential kindergarten. She has gotten into a great magnet school focusing on language: all students are taught both English and Spanish. I will need to hire a nanny to wait for the bus, but Olivia is getting harder and harder to get up early. It is difficult for me to get up and ready to leave the house by 6:15, now imagine you are almost 5. I am praying and asking for discernment, because this is a really big decision.

April 12th is D-day, the day I return to work and both girls go to day care. I've been driving down the parkway daily to take Olivia to school, but we have breakfast and she is at school by 8:30, only have to shave off two hours! No problem. Wish me luck. I learned that my to do list is very long and is growing longer each day. Thank goodness summer is just around the corner. Olivia is going to art camp and Aliette will stay at day care. We'll see how that goes. Since Olivia loves anything with scissors, glue, and paint, I think she will have an awesome time. I get a few weeks off in August then begin again. Can't wait to swim in grandma's and grandpa's pool. I don't have any photos, hoping I'll get some of the girls in their Sunday best.

Park Adventures

Mommy insists on putting a hat or hood on me, can someone tell me why?

I did it! No more hood. Yes, I'm free.

Aliette really enjoyed her 1st experience on swings. She told me she wants to do it again tomorrow.

Olivia loved pushing Aliette up, up, and away. Alietted loved every minute of it.

My little monkey. I see you up there.

Best friends and buddies. Enjoying a beautiful spring day. I can't wait to see what tomorrow holds.

Celebrating a new life

Suzi, I can't believe you waited until now to see me! Aren't I cute? Thanks for the veggies, they were so yummy.

Krista and Aliette posing for pictures. Becoming best friends!

Always photogenic daughter. I love you like crazy cakes. You are the best big sister.

Family reunion so wonderful to see TJ and Krista again! It has been too long.

True happiness. Olivia is sad because I took a photo with Aliette without her. I almost didn't post it, but I rarely take a good photo and it was a good one of me.

Finally a photo with Grandma. She is the best grandma. I love you soo much.

Uncle Tommy and Aunt Jeanette shower Aliette with love and best wishes. So good to see you both again.
I am sorry that I don't have photos of Aliette with all of my family and friends that gathered Sunday afternoon. It was a wonderful party, great food and wonderful memories.

Spring is finally here

After a long winter, it is so good to be outdoors again. We play outside any chance we can get. Olivia has become an awesome hula hooper and desperately wants to learn how to jump rope. My friend Clare and her daughter came to play.

A Day in the Life

Sorry everyone it has been a few days since my last post. I used to be on the computer multiple times a day, but now I'd be lucky if I checked my email every other day or once a day. Aliette is a good baby and she can independently play for short periods of time, but there is always something to do. Laundry, clean up breakfast, make lunch, take out trash, rotate laundry, fold and put away laundry etc.. You get the idea. Right now, I feel like the main character in Groundhog's Day. In the early morning, we have breakfast and head off to Norwalk to take Olivia to school. Aliette and I come home, play and clean up a little, usually go to a doctor or specialist and then have lunch. We both crash around 1:30 but our nap is short lived because we need to leave to pick up Olivia at 2:30. Aliette is so excited to see her big sister. They laugh and make faces at each other in the car, it is fun to watch. Olivia's activities keep us busy with gymnastics on Mondays and dance on Wednesdays. Here are some pictures.

Birthday Memories

What a great night! Tonight Renee and Aliette celebrated their birthdays. The cousins had a great time opening up Aliette's presents. Aliette was more interested in the wrapping paper, than the presents themselves. She received a new baby doll, a new bib, and tub letters Olivia picked out especially for Aliette. I think she really wanted them and this was her way to get it, smart little lady. Aliette has only been home for a few weeks, but she is adjusting beautifully. She is sleeping through the night and received some more medical answers, so I'm looking forward to our next doctors appointment. I don't think Aliette holds my same opinion, but I know that the sooner we get all these tests, the better off we will be.
Today was a busy day, our first play date with Rafe. Thank you Noelle for inviting us over. We had a great time. Can't wait until next time.
Tomorrow, Clare and Andra are coming over to play! We can't wait. Tomorrow evening, Olivia and I go to the theater, while Aliette will stay and play at grandma's. We are going to see Red Riding hood at the downtown cabaret.
Sunday, we are going to celebrate Aliette's 1st Birthday with our friends during coffee hour.
Although things are hectic, we are happy and loving being a family of 3.

The Newest Ram

Yesterday was a memorable day. I got both kids ready and in the car by 6:50, to take Olivia to daycare. Only problem was the TV repair man was coming at 8am and I was nervous about traffic and potentially missing him. Being without Dora, Max and Ruby, and our other Nickelodeon friends have been fine by me, but Olivia have really missed her cartoons. So we turned around and waited for our TV savior. He arrived at 8:15 with the proper part and by 9:00 we had our TV. A answer to Olivia's prayers.

Back in the car and heading to daycare, my garage door wouldn't go down. I have an older house, and this is a problem from time to time, so I did all of my tricks, but nothing worked. I left the half up, half down door and went on my way.

Olivia was successfully dropped off at school and I got points because I remembered to stop, wave, and beep as I drove away.

I decided to surprise a few friends at New Canaan HS. They have been very excited to see the little one. I didn't want to disrupt classes, but rather find out when the next faculty meeting was and then have the principal introduce her. Tomorrow begins state testing and Monday's faculty meeting was going to be all business, so we visited with many of the teachers in the hall ways and during free periods. We even saw the Superintendent! She was all smiles and giggles. It was really neat for me to see her with my colleagues from work. I am happy to know my sub is holding his own.

We then picked up the princess and headed for gymnastics. Mr. Rick gave me the article that was written when we were away! Aliette and I went to Quest to drop off specimens and then hit the grocery store.

Arrived home, gave both girls dinner and baths. Olivia watched Dora and Diego, the the little one had her treatment and crashed. Went to bed without a peep.

Life is so good. I can't wait to see what today will bring.
